Sounds of Creation "S.O.C." is an inspiring singing group formed by Eric Gordon Wright from a roster of talented youths, ages seventeen to twenty-three. S.O.C. members are students of Wright’s Music Studio. These youths were organized as a singing group because of their dedication to God, their incredible musical ability, and their unique vocal ability. They have had professional training through Wright’s Music Studio and have performed at numerous recitals, banquets, coronations, church musicals, weddings, graduations, talent showcases and musical workshops. S.O.C. is eager to perform whenever and wherever needed.

S.O.C. was organized six years ago, and have already achieved many milestones. Among their greatest accomplishments was the release of their first single CD in 1996 and the release of their first CD in 1997 entitled "Yes, I Love You". Many positive reviews have been given by those who have had the opportunity to hear the CD, resulting in the group being #1 runner-up for The Gospel Youth Group of Texas, in 1998 and 1999, awarded by the Texas Announcer Guild. S.O.C. also appeared at the Gospel Music Workshop of America’s Manufacturers showcase in Philadelphia, PA, in 1998. In 1999 they were blessed to tour New Orleans doing the Gospel Music Workshop of America Convention. While in New Orleans, they were able to share their Ministry with four local churches. S.O.C. was honored to be invited into the home of Heavy Weight Boxing Champion Evander Holyfield, in October of 1999. They were also interviewed by NBC Sports Rep and had the opportunity to share their music with Holyfield. Recently S.O.C. had an opportunity to travel to New York City to be part of a televised taping, on January 23, 2000, of Show Time At The Apollo which aired May 20, 2000 at 11:00 PM on URN Channel 20. S.O.C. is definitely ready for the next level as they release their new CD titled "Next Level" in stores now! S.O.C. continued to excite their audiences during their California Tour in June of 2000, traveling to Los Angeles, San Diego and Las Vegas. In December of 2000, they appeared on the nationally televised Nashville Gospel Show’s Christmas Special in Nashville, Tennessee. The S.O.C. reputation is growing and opportunities keep coming. In January of 2001, they opened for the world renown Jackson Southerniers in Dallas/Ft. Worth. They were able to share their Ministry with hundreds at this concert and were interviewed by the local newspaper "Black Voice". On April 28, 2001, S.O.C recorded live at Blessed Hope Baptist Church in Houston, Texas where Rev. L. D. Lee is the Pastor. Shortly after that on May 4th, SOC appeared on Teresa Hannah Presents Gospel Live in Nashville, Tennessee. On June 23-24, 2001, S.O.C participated in the Bobby Jones 25th Anniversary "Gospel On Stage" where they shared the stage with such Great Gospel Artists as Yolanda Adams, Beverly Crawford, Ricky Dillard, Hezekiah Walker, the Nashville Super Choir and many others. In July, S.O.C went on a concert tour to New Orleans and Lake Charles, LA. On August 14, 2001, appeared on the Gospel Music Workshop New Artist Showcase in Minneapolis, MN. In January 2002, they were honored at the Texas Gospel Excellence Awards as the "Top Youth Group of the Year". The window of God’s blessings continue to open for this group as they release their first national live CD project, entitled "LEVEL THREE". They are truly on a mission for the Lord.

In the awareness of a need to continue their education, scholarships are set up for each member of the singing group from the royalties of CD and tape sales. The scholarship fund has been named the "Ruthie Mae Wright Music Performance Scholarship". Mrs. Wright was for many years one of Houston’s finest music instructors.

As the executive manager of the group, my prayer is that these young people will go on to become some of Houston’s finest musicians, singers, educators and future leaders.
