History

In the year of 2001 Pastor James E. Nash saw the need for the youth to be off of the streets and in a place where they would be safe. The place was the Marcie L. Keys Activity Center, which is named after the oldest member of the St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church. The purpose and mission of the Center is simple. We want to offer the community, youth and senior citizens in the community a safe, Christian environment to meet and fellowship with one another. Our hope is by providing a variety of age appropriate, free, self-led activities under Christian leadership we will reduce the social pressures, risks and hazzards teenagers face during their free time.

The Grand Opening - Oct. 26, 2002 @ 8302 Colonial Lane in the Sunnyside area of Houston.

Since the Center open there has been an average of 60- 70 youth at the center daily after school and during the summer in the afternoon.

There has been an average of 30-35 Senior Citizens every Thursday for Senior Day Out and to participate in Project Hope through P. V. University focusing on Health Issues & Healthy Eating Habits for Seniors.
