Pastor Charles H. Taylor, Sr. is a native of Houston, Texas. He grew up under the nurturing and guidance of his parents, the late Tom & Hattie Mae Taylor. He was ordained as a deacon in 1973 under the late Pastor Enos D. Elvidge; accepted his "Call to the Ministry" in 1974 ; and ordained as a Minister in 1977, under the late Pastor Uran Justice. Pastor Taylor served 10 years as the Assistant Pastor of the St. Matthew Baptist Church in Houston, Texas under the leadership of the late Rev. Matthew Moore. He was called to pastor Grace Cathedral Church of Houston in 1989.

Since his leadership as Pastor of Grace Cathedral Church, he has been instrumental in the construction of a new sanctuary and the organization of G. C. Community Development Corporation, a faith-based ministry. This organization is currently in the process of constructing a 108 unit housing project called "The Commons of Grace Senior Apartments".

Pastor Taylor continues to be a beacon light in the northeast Houston area where he has served on the North Forest Independent School District Board of Trustees since 2005 as board secretary, a member of the Northeast Harris County Ministerial Alliance and many other organizations.

Pastor Taylor is married to Minister Belinda Goree Taylor and is the father of Minister Shalanda Small, Minister Charles Taylor, Jr., ReQuita Jacobs, Sharlette Taylor and Brandon Taylor.
